The SIS team recently attended talks with representatives from Microsoft in Western and Central Africa. Speakers PJ Kotze, highlighted issues faced by Microsoft partners and customers within this region as well as innovative solutions these companies are introducing to this market.
With tough economic conditions, recesssions and interest rates being of key concern of business decision makers within Africa and the world - the Microsoft team in WECA highlighted various logistical issues within these regions as well as their innovative ways of addressing them. With staggering statistics posing challenges to these countries including landline penetration (9.2 in every 10,000) and mobile penetration (125 in every 10,000) and even with recent developments still showing marginal increases in internet connectivity (currently sitting at 2%) - Microsoft has made huge inroads into these regions, bringing popular Microsoft Technologies to this content.

Delegates stream to keynote session on the second day of the Microsoft Partner Summit at the ICC in Durban. The two key product launches from Microsoft (amongst a host of other technologies recently launched at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference), Windows 7 and Office 2010 will be showcased during this mornings' keynote presentation at the Microsoft Partner Summit in Durban. Microsoft Partners have gathered in Durban over the last week to discuss and collaborate on challenges and opportunities in South Africa as well as the Western and Central African regions.
